FFH’s own Ron Morosky recently added “published author” to his résumé!
Ron recently released his debut book, Slice of Life: A Poetic Collection of Life’s Trials. The collection marks a creative turn after a career spent working with environmental data and technical writing, trading concise reports for poetry exploring family, aging, resilience, faith, and all of the unexpected turns life can take.
After spending so much of his career writing technically and efficiently, poetry offered Ron an opportunity to approach writing from an entirely different direction. Slice of Life moves between humor and reflection. Its “Light and Comical” poems revisit everything from childhood athletic adventures and vintage Batman cards to the mishaps of everyday life. In “Deeper and Thoughtful,” Ron turns toward more personal subjects, including mortality, spiritual growth, the loss of loved ones, and finding purpose as we age.
Ron draws from his own life throughout the collection, including his Russian immigrant heritage, experiences raising two adopted children, family relationships, and his professional background.
Slice of Life: A Poetic Collection of Life’s Trials is published by Spines and available on Amazon.
Ron adds that lots of help came from wonderful friends and family, as well as graphical design expertise from Bree!
