We Made it to August!

Greeting FFH new and old! Wanted to share all that we have been up to this summer. We have continued to swim all over the area--- and have enjoyed being outdoors again. As you may recall our last swim in 2020 outdoors did occur on November 16th! We will look to swim outdoors again this fall a bit-- definitely into September, please check out schedule page.

We wanted to celebrate our four FFH who all participated in the Delaware Ohio Ironman competition. They join a number of other FFH Ironmen and Ironwomen.... It seems to be the most recent infection afflicting this team. Alyssa, Felix, Rhett and Amanda--- kudos to you. We are so impressed and admire your determination!

We are working on moving forward this fall to a bit of new normalcy and hoping to be able to offer more am practices than previous years. We have grown as a team. We hosted a number of swimmers during USMS Try Masters Month in July and some plan to join us for the coming school year. As this happens-- it is so important that you all help welcome our new swimmers. New swimmer in your lane? Introduce yourself. Help them with the guidelines of Masters practice (if they are brand new)-- remind them to listen to their bodies, tell them about fins. Help them with the secret rules of your lane-- "a different person leads each set", "Rons masters minutes are longer", "Bruce's stories are a riot but if he tells them mid set you will miss your interval" "Cory and Katie will kick next to each other" "Debbie, Dave, Nancy and Jim will swim next to each other at the same time" "Lindsay won't swim backstroke here" ..... the list is entertaining and endless. Introduce them to a coach.

As we accept new members we are asking them to be vaccinated. We are asking everyone to remain vigilant and protect our swimming herd. Most will acknowledge that being able to swim kept many of us sane, please keep it up. Staying home when sick, getting vaccinated, and mostly being kind an supportive to one another. Wellness is important in a pandemic. We help with wellness. Please help keep Cory and I well and sane as we grow. Support our coaches and our facilities, love your lanemates.

We are hoping to have outdoor ams in September Tuesday through Friday at the FCRC. We hope to have some sort of Oktoberfest after a practice this fall outside. And we really hope that we can finally have our holiday brunch December 5, 2021 (hoping that it becomes our yearly first Sunday in December thing). And possibly a new years swimathon.
